Charles Darnell

A nature photographer at heart, Charles has become engaged in creating photographic art of many genres for the decorative market. Recently, he has formed a consortium of photographic artists to introduce gallery-quality fine art into the decorative showroom. He is an accomplished professional who sells his camera art all over the Americas. He also paints in watercolor and acrylic.

“I believe that art can be painted with a brush using splendid colors or with light using a camera. When I see beauty I try to imagine converting the image to art using any medium available. Capturing such beauty is my means of relaxing and relieving stress. Sharing this art with others brings me in contact with many interesting people who also enjoy decorative and fine art photography.”

His works can be seen in many public locations around the country and in private collections. His restorations of historic art photography are works of art in themselves.

Darnell enjoyed a full career as a business executive for over 50 years. This background prepared him well for the business of art and innovative new concepts in photography. He is president of Charles Darnell Associates, Inc. a Decatur, Georgia corporation dealing in graphic art imagery and consulting.

Charles is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) and the Professional Photographers Association (PPA) at the national level. He has studied with many top level photographers including John Shaw and Ron Planck.

Jennifer Singleton

“I think it started with the Eiffel Tower, when I was 12. I took a picture of the tower from underneath one of its massive arches and was hooked on the details and shapes in nature and architecture. With my lifelong interest in horses and old cars, I’m often photographing these subjects as well.

I acquired my first real camera in high school, when my dad, who studied photography on the way to his MFA, bought a Nikon FM2. I borrowed the camera then and still have it now. Within the last year, I’ve finally graduated to digital, which means I should probably give my dad his camera back.

In my “real” job, I work as the production editor for a magazine called The Carriage Journal, which is the official publication of the Carriage Association of America and is devoted to the study of horse-drawn vehicles and the history of carriage driving. My job also sends me to some fascinating, far-flung places. Needless to say, I always take my camera with me when I go.”
